perfect power + compassion

"For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

God's Word is so powerful. So powerful.
It enters into our hearts, our very being and convicts us.
It comforts us.
It shows us our wrongs.
It encourages us.
It shows us where to go and how to do it.

Know any other book that can do that?

"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

God is powerful. So powerful.
He sees every thing we do, think, and say.
He knows our thoughts before we do; He knows our hearts and minds.
And we must give an account to Him on that Day, that very glorious day.
When we have our whole life of thoughts, actions, words behind us to account for.

Know any other Supreme Being like that?

"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."

Jesus is compassionate. So compassionate.
He knows we are tempted, He knows we are weak.
He can sympathize with our weaknesses.
Because He is Jesus.
He came to earth, was tempted and tried, died on a sinner's cross and yet lived without one speck of sin.
Because He is Jesus.

Know any other who has shown such compassion as He has?

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

We are unworthy. So unworthy.
And yet we can come boldly to the throne!
We can obtain mercy from an ever-compassionate God.
And in time of trouble, we can find grace.
Because He is God.

Perfect power + compassion.
Both majesty and mercy, both judgement and grace, both might and love.
He is Splendour.
