JOYCE FAMILY | FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER, MANCHESTER, UK

"have I gone mad?"
"I'm afraid so. but let me tell you, the best people usually are."
(lewi carroll)

these guys are mad, crazy, beautiful, busy, loud, hilarious, stylin and just darn adorable. I love taking yearly family photos of them, coz every year the kiddies grow so much and also, I've come to realise while editing these photos that they all seem to wear stripes a lot (laughing emoji). I've come to realise another thing, too: I love doing indoor sessions. like, a lot. taking pictures of a family inside their home, where it's cosy and homely and the kids love being best - all the fun and definitely one of my favourite kind of shoots! anyway, I'll stop rambling now and leave you to your day/coffee/tea/fried chicken/burritos/chocolate. hope you've enjoyed these images of this adorable family and I can't wait to blog more of the shoots I've done recently! if you're interested in a family, couples or portrait session before christmas, email me or contact me here before I get booked up!

love you all!

LATELY

life has been a blur of wonderful photoshoots, travelling up and down, tackling social media at every turn, steadily adding more layers to my person (autumn has truly arrived, folks), drinking more tea than is good for me (lesbereal, there's no such thing), planning creative shoots, trying to support friends goin through really hard things, filming mind the gap videos (have you checked out the channel recently? we're up to episode fifty five already! go have a nosey!) and spending hours on end editing photos while listening to all (did I say all?) the movie soundtracks.

all the while, trying to put together posts that make some sorta sense out of the thousands of pictures I have lined up (laughing but also crying emoji). still, I'm trying to remember that it doesn't all have to be perfectly put together and my words don't have to be in anyway amazing, because I'm just a creative weirdo who loves takin pictures and telling people stories. so I guess I'll stick to that. anyway, for today's post, I just wanted to update you all on what's been going on in my life and share with you some things that I've been loving, in the hopes that you'll do the same (don't be shy - comment below!). so, in no particular order, here they are!

cream + coconut tea // agents of shield // ireland // movie soundtracks // this stranger and her bearded admirer // bread + wine by shauna neiquist // God's timing // family conversation // fried chicken // finished projects // coffee face masks // ginger beer // this talent // wales // coffee (ha) // instagram (no joke, jess) // this weirdo // the paradise // cliffs of moher // sea salt scrubs // pear cider // the power of prayer // this human //

love to you all!

ISRAEL ATTICUS | NEWBORN, NORTH ENGLAND PHOTOGRAPHER

as you all probably know, I recently acquired a new nephew (as in, he was born. I didn't buy him off amazon gosh guys)! I cannot believe that he's nearly two months old now, like, what the even heck. how on earth does time fly that fast?? anyway! he was born in a bedroom just down the hall from where I'm sitting right now and it happened faster than you could say jimminy cricket, with the midwife (who is the most wonderful midwife on this planet) getting here just on time. my sister had four hours of contractions (compared to the thirty hours with her first baby, adelaide) and then boom! israel atticus was there! I was lucky enough to be able to film the birth for beth (wish I could show you all, but it's a personal video!), even though there is a slight gap in the video because I was helping deliver le baby, but honestly I don't even remember picking up the camera a lot of the time, but according to the footage, I guess I must've! guys. my sister is superwoman. you all know I'm not mushy or sentimental or emotional, but she was so amazing and brave and calm and the fact that me + her were chatting an hour after the birth (and also eating barbeque crackers) like normal was surreal. yeah. she's the most crazy amazing person ever.

don't forget to welcome little israel atticus (isn't his name superbly fantastic?) to the world! and also, offer him your condolences for being born into the most bonkers, crazy, outrageous family in the history of ever.

love you all!

JOYCE FAMILY MATERNITY SHOOT | NORTH ENGLAND PHOTOGRAPHER

aaaaand I am back to the land of the living! sorry I haven't posted in such a dreadfully long time. if you ever wonder what the heck I'm up to, you can always catch up with me on instagram or twitter or facebook! my sister is now three weeks away from her due date, so I'm pretty sure I am way late on this post, seeing as this was her seven month shoot! as part of the maternity project, I wanted to do a full maternity session with her husband, and adelaide (who is now one and a half, guys. what!). and I have finally found an amazing greenhouse to shoot in, which makes me so, so, so happy. quick side-track: if anyone is interested in being a model for me, I'd love to do a fashion shoot in this place (flick me an email if you're in the north england area + are interested!). anyway. there's something about maternity shoots that are so ridiculously great. the way the mother is always so radiant, the fact that you're capturing the celebration of a new life, the excitement the expectant parents can't hide, the hilarious stories you get to hear, everything about it is so unbelievably wonderful. these three (well, four, really) are crazy, goofy, bonkers, gorgeous, brilliant, silly and down to earth. so glad that I can call them my family and even more glad that I am able to capture all of the above.

love you all!
