SAVANNAH PORTRAITS | NORTH ENGLAND PHOTOGRAPHER

this girl. we met about four years ago, at a three day youth retreat. I remember talking to her a couple of times before we realized that she and her family were actually coming to ours for dinner that night, before they went home the next day (some good four hours away), because apparently our parents got along swimmingly. so they all came round for dinner. all seven of them poured into our wee house and I remember us making coffees (surprise surprise!). savannah and her younger sisters nicknamed me 'the wicked witch of the west' (it's been my nickname ever since) and my sister, beth, they nicknamed 'the white witch' (apparently there's a theme). I remember laughing a lot and joking around with them and being amazed at her youngest brother's energy, which she later told me, she was incredibly embarrassed about at the time and she was sure we must've thought they were all crazy (I love hearing first impressions; she had no idea how insane we actually were). we said goodbyes and forgot all about sharing contact details. then the next year came round and we went down to her church and house when they were away, because my dad was filling in as pastor for her dad (another pastor surprise surprise I just can't stay away from PKs). so, because I'm annoying and just fantastic, I left notes all over their house (including contact details aren't I smart) and went back home. lots of emails, two or three church conferences, and one wedding later, we were firm friends. and although she still lives four hours away, we take turns travelling to each other's houses. this past week was her turn to come to mine (remember when I went to norwich?), so of course when she mentioned something about wanting new profile pictures, I shoved her out the door and two locations/three outfits later, voila!

do you guys have any awesome stories about friends? any funny first impressions?

love you all.

  4. Sweet story and pictures :)

Well once upon a time this crazy english family moved next door to me, and the first time I met them there were these two girls sitting on their handkerchief of a front lawn as I walked by. My parents decided to invite them over for dinner. I pleaded with them not to. I didn't want these people to think we were weird, or I was afraid they might be weird or something. Anyway the next day they all came round to our place and we had a whale of a time together. Turns out we were all weird. A recipe for instant friendship. I miss them very much.

  5. Hi, I'm another slightly insane friend of Savannah's and I just thought I'd introduce myself - I started following your blog recently. These pictures are absolutely stunning! I especially like the b&w pic where she's looking upwards. That smile kills me.
We should all get together some time and drink tea.
