STYLED SHOOT | NORTH ENGLAND, UK PHOTOGRAPHER

farther off were hills: not so lofty as those round lowood, nor so craggy, nor so like barriers of separation from the living world; but yet quiet and lonely hills enough, and seeming to embrace thornfield with a seclusion. (jane eyre, charlotte bronte)

doing a styled shoot was probably one of my favourite creative projects of the year. pouring my lil creative soul into this shoot was so, so much fun, not to mention being able to work with other amazingly creative people to make it all happen. if doing styled shoots was a full time job, you can bet I'd be the first in line, jumping up and down while simultaneously when someone asked me what my inspiration for this shoot was my jumbled reply was something like this, "jane eyre, wild, fairy, grey, bleak, messy, natural, copper, burnt, jane eyre jane eyre wild fairy". makes sense, right? basically, my simple inspiration for this shoot was jane eyre turned wild fairy and I had my location picked out months before (thank you england for being so gorgeous). saddleworth moors are bleak, vast, wild and harsh and they were literal perfection. we had delicious grey skies most of the day, except at the end when the sun leapt out long enough for me to get some happy, warm shots (which made a very happy jess). the whole day was just splendiferous. our makeup artist is one of the most lovely, generous, beautiful people in the history of ever and my model (aside from being drop dead gorgeous) is the kindest, sweetest, funniest friend you ever did meet. my brother damien was my assistant, so basically I wanna say thanks to him for keeping an eye on the resident bulls, holding coats, spreading out plastic on the wet fields, and taking bts footage. you did a stellar job, bro. my heart was full to bursting when we finished this shoot and I know now that this is the kind of work that makes my heart sing, so I'll be doing more projects like this in the future (if you're a model, florist, mua, or boutique in the england area and are interested in these kinda projects, flick me an email!).

her coming was my hope each day,
her parting was my pain;
the chance that did her steps delay
was ice in every vein.
(jane eyre, charlotte bronte)

love you all!
