Hi All!
I was so privileged to be able to interview Ashley Sisk from Ramblings and Photos (I'm sure you all know it). I love her blog and I love reading/seeing her posts and pictures.
She is an amazing photographer and a great blogger!
Besides being an awesome person in general;-)
{Ashley herself; I just love those glasses!}
How long have you been doing photography?
I took my first photography course in high school. I’m sure I learned the basics and I learned how to process my own photos in a dark room, but I remember very little from that time in my life. I purchased my first DSLR in November of 2009 and have been loving it ever since!
What would be your main “tip” for beginner photographers?
Practice Practice Practice. I literally carry my camera with me everywhere and have been shooting in manual mode since probably month two of owning a DSLR. If you’re serious about photography, like anything it takes work.
Tea or Coffee?
While I love a good Chai latte, I’d have to say coffee.

A normal Saturday afternoon for you is...?
We’re pretty lazy on Saturday afternoon, but it’s also our day to catch up around the house before we go to church (we attend our church’s Saturday afternoon services).
What would be the best lens to take portraits with (speaking in terms of a Canon)?
I’ve got to give it to the 50mm although I spend an equal amount of time using my Tamron 28-75mm lens.
You prefer...Canon or Nikon?
I’ve been a Canon girl my entire life.
How long did it take you to get used to Photoshop CS5?
I just started using CS5 in December of last year so not long at all. I guess it helped that I had been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years. Most of the functions cross over quite naturally.

Your fave subject to “photograph”?
Inanimate objects I suppose. I love being able to take simple everyday things and turn them into little works of art. I am rarely able to photograph people so when I do have the opportunity, I am always so nervous. I guess that’s part of the reason I haven’t done more portrait work – I’m a big scaredy cat!
Your Dream-never-could-possibly-have-Wishlist?
Good question. I feel pretty satisfied with the lenses that I own right now. I have quite the collection. However, I’d love to be able to upgrade what I have to L series lenses. For example, I’d love to be able to upgrade my Sigma 105mm Macro to the Canon 100mm Macro, but it’s over $1000 so I don’t see myself purchasing that any time soon.
Thanks so much for interviewing me!
