yesterday was The Mama's birthday. she turned 21, of course. we decided that we wanted to make her birthday really craft-sy and different. so, after a day of pampering and walking and drinking coffee and watching movies, us kids made The Dad and The Mama a three course dinner.
and seeing as they didn't throw any of the courses back in our faces and seemed pretty happy while they were scoffing away in a secluded little spot, we figure it went pretty well.
we owed the table decor inspiration to pinterest (the best thing since can openers and toothpaste) and no, that's not just a jar with twigs tied around it...well, it is. but it has a candle in it. and that makes all the difference dontcha know.
but aside from all that. and aside from the fact that we've just started watching dowton abbey and I am loving it to pieces. and bits. and shreds.
so, aside from all that.
The Mama is the best mum in the whole world. yes, I have official rights to be able to say that. and, she is the best mum I have ever, ever had. truth.
she makes amazing coffee.
she is beautiful.
she's a nurse & midwife.
she is so smart.
she is the best bbc-period-drama-6-hour-long-film buddy ever.
she is so so so so patient.
she actually thinks I'm a lovely daughter.
that just shows you how bias mums are.
yeah. and then she stares at me with that mum look and says after a while, 'you're so beautiful'. does your mum do that too? I thought so.
she is diligent.
she makes the most amazing food (I know, but I had to say it).
she's a ballyjollytippitytopspiffing artist.
and? she's my Mama.
so, Mama. I hope that you had a delicious birthday and I love you. you're amazing. the end.
love you all.
be good, give a happy birthday to The Mama, and sing disney songs.

ReplyDeleteP.S. Downton Abbey is the best TV series I have ever watched! I'm only in the first season, but I am completely hooked to it. And my favorite...er, favorites? (I can't choose only one!) Yes, I will readily gush with you. Matthew is one, of course! Aaah, he's so honorable, so humble and so teachable, so gentlemanly and chivalrous! I am seriously annoyed with Mary because she doesn't see that. Oh, and I adore Bates. He's a wonderful character. And my other favorites are Anna, Sybil, and Lady Grantham!
