I love wales. and I think I always will. so naturally, when petie came, we had to go together + make it a long weekend. we stayed in a tiny tiny little cottage, right next to the sea and in walking distance to a castle, the town, the mountains and also fish and chips (coz, reasons.). we spent three days exploring hills and villages and castles and caves and ruins and coffee shops and mountains and book shops, while eating loads of yummy pastries and cakes and pies (everything that's bad for you, basically.). we sang phantom of the opera in creepy stone tunnels, climbed over five hundred steps, danced in ruins from five hundred a.d., rode on a train up to the mountain-of-the-most-glorious-views-in-wales, tried (and failed) to pronounce welsh town names, got misled by buzzfeed, watched jane eyre while eating chocolates, had deep conversations around a city wall, and traipsed around a fairy forest. so I guess you could say we had a good time.
where's one of your favourite places to visit?
love you all!

ReplyDeleteI need to get to Wales ASAP These pictures are so great at capturing that rugged landscape of my heritage :D Did you go to Cardiff Castle?
ReplyDeleteoh and one of my favourite places to visit in Australia is Melbourne, the theatres and the little nooks and crannies but my new favourite is Wellington in good ole NZ. The coffee .. mhmm!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Love that mountain-top trail! Where does it go?
ReplyDeleteWales is a dream of mine. One summer while working at a kids Celtic Camp I had to teach them a song in Welsh. It took a couple of weeks to figure out the pronunciation--some of the sounds are consonants we don't use in English but I gave it my best attempt. Wales' countryside is as beautiful as its language and music. Thank you for sharing these lovely pictures of you and Payton's adventures! :D

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful(and fun. yeah)! Thanks for sharing them. As for places I love to visit...we have some spirited lakes here and it's great to catch them at the sunrise/sunset. But on a broader spectrum? What I have seen of Europe is lovely and I would like to go again... ^.^
